Drug Uses
Cipro is used for treatment of bacterial infections. It may also be used to prevent or slow anthrax after exposure.
How Taken
Use Cipro with a full glass of clear water as prescripted by your doctor. Take Cipro with or without a meal. It is advised to drink extra fluids while taking Cipro. If you also take any products containing magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc (eg, vitamins/minerals, antacids), didanosine, sucralfate, or bismuth subsalicylate, do not take them within 6 hours before or 2 hours after taking Cipro. To clear up your infection completely, take Cipro for the full course of treatment. Keep taking it even if you feel better in several days.
Additional Information
Cipro may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness. These effects can worsen if Cipro is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Use Cipro with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to this pill. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your physician. Cipro should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your physician.
