Greenwood Area Office BPN Event

The event will be a lunch and learn held at the Greenwood Area VR office. Representatives from the Department of Employment and Workforce will be speaking on the federal Work Opportunity Tax Credits and the Federal Bonding Program. This outreach is being provided to increase employer awareness of opportunities available to them to expand their workforce by utilizing these resources.  All area employers are encouraged to participate.  Please contact us to join our Business Partnership Network and participate in our events.

Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) is a large-scale national effort to promote career development for students and job-seekers with disabilities through hands-on career exploration and ongoing mentoring relationships. 

While DMD has been and continues to be officially launched the third Wednesday of each October during National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), the foundation of the program has expanded from a one-day event to a year-round initiative across the country.

Summer Institute

This event will expose students to local jobs and encourage them to go after those typical teen jobs to gain work experience while still in school. The cinema has recently reopened in Walterboro and is the closest one for many neighboring counties. Students will go to Ireland Creek Cinema to tour the projection area and learn about jobs that are available in the facility, and then watch a movie. When finished at the theater, everyone will travel to Dukes BBQ for lunch. Following lunch, all will return to the area office for discussion time.
