This event will expose students to local jobs and encourage them to go after those typical teen jobs to gain work experience while still in school. The cinema has recently reopened in Walterboro and is the closest one for many neighboring counties. Students will go to Ireland Creek Cinema to tour the projection area and learn about jobs that are available in the facility, and then watch a movie. When finished at the theater, everyone will travel to Dukes BBQ for lunch. Following lunch, all will return to the area office for discussion time.

The Conway transition team is hosting a two day summer institute designed to assist students with preparing for employment through team building activities, job preparedness instruction, and career exploration. 

On Thursday August 10th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Myrtle Beach Bowl, the students will focus on team building exercise and the importance of maintaining a balance of work and leisure. 

On Friday, August 11th, students will spend the day at Huntington Beach State Park learning about the various careers and how the park maintains its natural habitat.  Lunch will be provided at the State Park via a staff prepared cookout.
