What is Explore Life?
Explore Life is a three-day residential camp hosted by the Coastal Carolina LIFE (Learning is for Everyone) Program on the campus of Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina, from June 20th - 22nd. It is sponsored by the SC Vocational Rehabilitation Department.
Who Should Attend Explore LIFE?
Students ages 18-21 with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, who have an open case with the SC Vocational Rehabilitation Department and are interested in learning more about post-secondary educational opportunities including college life. Applicants must:
currently receive services from VR,
have independent personal hygiene and grooming skills,
be able to maintain appropriate behavior and social skills, and
be able to communicate effectively.
What is the cost for this camp?
There is no cost to attend this camp.
What will students learn at this camp?
Students will explore and learn to navigate the Coastal Carolina University Campus and learn the services and resources that are available (see full schedule). In addition, students will engage in activities to include:

In addition to staff from Coastal Carolina, there will be Peer Mentors working alongside the students.
